The ‘warm hubs’ set up in Swansea to support the community this winter

A helping hand is being offered to people living in Swansea this winter thanks to the creation of 'warm centres', designed to give people a place to go if they are struggling to heat their own homes. Schemes have been set up across the city to make use of community buildings to give people a place to go.

WalesOnline reported in August how councillors, church leaders, and other organisations in Swansea were set to meet to explore the concept of 'warm hubs' and whether community buildings in the area, such as local church halls, could be used to help keep people warm during the winter without them adding to their own fuel bills.

Now, the plan of action is being put in place in different areas of the city, thanks to the efforts of community organisations looking to do their bit to help others. Get stories like this straight to your inbox with our newsletters.
