Mahmoud Darwish Palestine Israel PLO Edward Said Yasser Arafat Gaza Al Jazeera
Darwish wrote PLO leader Yasser Arafat’s now famous UN speech: 'Today I have come bearing an olive branch and a freedom fighter’s gun. Do not let the olive branch fall from my hand.' [File: Jamal Saidi/Reuters]

Extracts from Silence for Gaza, Mahmoud Darwish (1973)
