Tom Parker died from his cancer without writing a will leaving his widow Kelsey with £70,000.
The Wanted frontman passed away last March at the age of 33 following a gruelling battle with terminal brain cancer glioblastoma. Tom, who is survived by his widow Kelsey and two children Aurelia and Bodhi, passed on a net value of £71,500 in his estate.
The Mirror reports his estate had a gross value of £835,500 - meaning that he had £764,000 in liabilities, such as debts, funeral expenses and mortgages, when he died in March 2022. Without a will in place, all of Tom's estate was passed onto his beloved wife Kelsey.
At the time of his passing, Kelsey penned a heartbreaking statement confirming the death of her musician husband. She wrote: ”It is with the heaviest of hearts that we confirm Tom passed away peacefully earlier today with all of his family by his side. Our hearts are broken.
”Tom was the centre of our world and we can’t imagine life without his infectious smile and energetic presence."
She added: ”We are truly thankful for the outpouring of love and support and ask that we all unite to ensure Tom’s light continues to shine for his beautiful children. Thank you to everyone who has supported in his care throughout, he fought until the very end. I’m forever proud of you.”
Kelsey recently credited singer Ed Sheeran for being a huge support to her late husband throughout his cancer ordeal. The Shape Of You singer helped Tom pay for private medical treatment to help as he battled cancer.
In Tom's posthumously released autobiography, Hope: My Inspirational Life, he revealed that Ed had helped to pay for his medical treatment after being diagnosed with the inoperable brain tumour in October 2020.
In his inspiring autobiography, Tom penned: “I’ve never publicly said this before (and he’ll probably be mad that I’m doing it now), but Ed is a very special man. He even helped out with my medical bills when I was seeking other treatment options and having private immunotherapy.
“He didn’t need to do any of that, but my wife Kelsey and I are so grateful to him for his support. It meant the world.
“Overnight, my entire world turned upside down and I was forced to re-evaluate the value of life itself. I was absolutely petrified - I couldn’t stop thinking about death.”
