The Wanted's Max George 'splits' from girlfriend Stacey Giggs after calling her 'The One'

The Wanted's Max George has reportedly split from his girlfriend Stacey Giggs after calling her ‘The One’.

The couple first began dating in 2018, and their relationship quickly developed, with the singer, 33, moving into the mansion she shares with her two kids - Libby, 19, and son Zach, 15.

Stacey was previously married to footballing icon Ryan Giggs, but split from the former Manchester United legend in 2016.

The Wanted singer recently appeared on the Strictly Come Dancing Live tour, which kicked off earlier this year and came to an end last month, in which he was paired with professional dancer Katya Jones.

According to The Sun, Max has wiped all traces of his former partner from social media, removing pictures of Stacey from Instagram.

Friends of the loved-up couple are said to be “stunned” by the split, calling the possibility of Max and Stacey ending things as “unthinkable”.

“She was the person who’d convinced him he wanted to have kids. He was even happy to fulfil the step-father role to her two children,” a source told the outlet.

They suggested it was Max’s return to the spotlight - as the singer is currently on tour with The Wanted - as one of the reasons for the couple parting ways.

“But there’s no getting away from the fact that they’re at different stages of life,” they added.

They first began dating in 2018 after being introduced by friends, two years after Stacey had split amid sensational claims Ryan had cheated on her, and the former couple were locked in a bitter divorce battle for a year.

Max signed up to star on BBC ’s Strictly Come Dancing in 2020, and was paired with Australian pro dancer Dianne Buswell.

Max was due to take part in the Strictly live tour in 2021, but it was scrapped amid surging cases of Covid, and the reintroduction of more restrictions.

He was one of the celebrities who signed up to perform in this year’s live tour, alongside winner Rose Ayling-Ellis and her pro partner Giovanni Pernice, as well as EastEnders star Maisie Smith, who replaced injured AJ Odudu.

Before he agreed to take part in Strictly, Max heaped praise on Stacey, as he told The Sun they were a “good match”, and she was “The One”, despite the age gap.

“The age thing we don’t really think about it and it’s never been part of a discussion,” the singer said, as he hinted at the possibility of an addition to their family “at some point”.

“I think Stacey’s The One,” Max gushed.

The Mirror has approached Max and Stacey’s reps for comment.
