The Wanted have cancelled an event next month over 'time out for reflection' after their late bandmate Tom Parker's death.
Parker died in March at the age of 33 from an inoperable brain tumour, leaving behind his wife Kelsey and children Aurelia and Bodhi.
The boy band were due to perform at the Live After Racing event at Newcastle Racecourse on July 23, but confirmed in a statement that they will no longer be performing.
They wrote on Twitter: “After some reflection, and with a heavy heart, we can confirm that we will no longer be performing at the Live After Racing event scheduled to take place at Newcastle Racecourse on 23rd July.
“It is just over 2 months since we lost Tom and as much as we love performing live, it is just far too soon for us to even think about being on stage again as The Wanted.
“We are all still processing the events of the last few months and need to take this time out for reflection. We are so sorry to let anyone down and thank you for your understanding and support. We will see you all soon x”
It comes after Max George has said that he still “accidentally” texts Tom as he “processes” his loss to cancer.
Max paid tribute to Tom on Tuesday’s This Morning as he discussed the tell-all memoir the singer penned in his last 12 months and set to be released in July, giving an insight into his life.
Tom revealed he was in the process of writing a tell-all memoir amid his battle with brain cancer one week before his death.
He said that the book, called Hope, would not be about 'dying' but about 'living' and 'finding hope' no matter what situation you are in.
When discussing the book and his story, George admitted it has felt surreal promoting the memoir without Tom by his side on the ITV sofa.
He told hosts Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond: “I still think I'm trying to process it.”
He continued: “I still text him actually. If I get stuff like pictures that fans have made with him in it or they send a nice message to do with Tom, I’ll Whatsapp it to him still.
“I think I'm just finding comfort in that. The worst thing is when I do it accidentally. Sometimes you just go to text and you’re like, ‘oh no’.”
