The voter turnout for every council in Wales' local elections

The turnout figures for every local authority in Wales' recent council elections have been revealed.

This month's local election on May 5 saw Labour take 66 extra seats across Wales and finish with control of eight of Wales' 22 local authorities. Plaid Cymru saw its share of councillors fall by six, but took control of three new councils, giving it a total of four. The Welsh Conservatives lost over a third of their seats and their majority in the Monmouthshire County Council, with some party members attributing its result to national issues and the handling of Partygate.

The Green Party saw a number of councillors elected for the first time, including in Swansea, Denbighshire, Newport and Neath. You can read the full story of the 2022 Wales council elections here.
