The Voice UK's Anne-Marie unveils new tattoo with special link to Sir Tom Jones

The Voice star Anne-Marie has revealed that she has a special tattoo in tribute to her fellow judge Sir Tom Jones, during Saturday’s episode of the singing competition.

The 31-year-old TV show judge – who topped the charts with Clean Bandit and Sean Paul with their song Rockabye – is back for season 11 of the hit ITV singing contest.

Anne-Marie shared that she had 28 tattoos, as well as piercings, and that one of them signifies how close she is to her fellow judge, who she has appeared on Celebrity Gogglebox with.

Anne-Marie showed viewers at home a close-up of the tattoo, which is inked in Sir Tom's handwriting.

She told the audience as she held up her hand to show off the tattoo, which says ‘we'll be okay’, she said: “All my tattoos are written by friends – and I got Tom's.”

When previously discussing her tattoos, Anne-Marie said a lot are written by people who have ‘taught her things’.

She said she had ‘forgiveness’ inked on her shoulder in her best friend's handwriting, while her first tattoo was a rose on her left hip in a nod to her middle name Rose.

She has previously revealed that her finger tattoos, which she had done all at once, are for her parents, with a crescent moon on her left index finger, three horizontal lines on her left ring finger, one vertical line on her right ring finger and two dots on her right middle finger.

This comes after The Voice star Anne-Marie was reduced to tears on the ITV show as Sir Tom performed a song that he dedicated to his late wife, Melinda Trenchard, who died in 2016 at the age of 75.

After chants from fans, the 82-year-old was handed a microphone and performed I Won't Crumble With You If You Fall to the live audience.

The studio fell silent during the soulful rendition and fellow judges Anne-Marie and Olly Murs were seen tearing up at the track from his Surrounded By Time album.

After he had finished, Tom took a moment to explain the meaning of the emotional ballad, which he said he had written in memory of his wife Melinda, who died in 2016 aged 75.

He told the audience: “My wife, you know, she was dying of lung cancer, so I said, you know, I was always able to fix stuff, to do things if she needed me I was always there.

“She said, 'Don't crumble with me, don't fall now, you've done everything you can, you must carry on and do what you do.

“So I put the song, when I heard it, it was like it was written for this situation. It's a lovely song.”

The performance was so powerful that Anne-Marie was reduced to tears and forced to flee the set of the show to compose herself.
