LeAnn Rimes is definitely not a fan of British food.
The 41-year-old US country singer and new coach on The Voice UK was maybe questioning her life choices after almost gagging when invited to try a selection of traditional British grub when a guest on This Morning.
During a segment called Rimes Rates on Thursday’s episode of the ITV daytime show, the How Do I Live hit-maker sampled a menu that included a “very dry” Scotch egg, pork scratchings and Bovril.“I don't think I can do this” she said outright as she tried some of the products.
Rochelle Humes and Joel Dommett were presenting the show that day and gave her the different things to try.
Dommett had to act fast to give Rimes a glass of water after she nearly choked on the scotch egg.
When it came time to try the Bovril, Humes didn’t exactly make it sound appetising when it came to describing it, saying: “It's like watered down beef”.
Game, Rimes gave it a go, but was soon gagging while pulling a face and quickly put the mug down.
She won’t be ordering a packet of pork scratching the next time she’s at her local, giving the classic pub snack a measly one out of 10 rating.
“Give me a chip or something sweet!” she moaned and was handed a Tunnock's teacake, which Humes advised was a “Scottish classic”.
“'There's nothing that complements a cup of Bovril more,” Dommett quipped.
“Yeah, we got pork, and egg, beef and then some sweets... Mmm. I'm gonna give this a seven out of ten,” agreed Rimes.
At the end of the segment, the former The Saturdays singer Humes joked: “I think we've blown our first time meeting LeAnn Rimes.”
