The 2024 VMAs have arrived and the celebs are flooding the red carpet in style! This year, we’re set to see some of the biggest names in music light up our screens, with performances from Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan and Halsey.
Our host for the evening is none other than Megan Thee Stallion and there’s a pretty stacked list of nominated musicians, including Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande and Billie Eilish. But let’s be honest — what we all want to see is who serves on the red carpet! Let’s take a look at the stars who have arrived, shall we?

Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift, who hurt you? I’m not loving this look from the Tortured Poets Department singer, especially when she’s been nailing the red carpet lately. It’s fun, I guess? It’s kinda like a mix of Clueless and Gladiator, with the open skirt feeling a bit dated. She looks good in a corset though, that’s for sure!
Sabrina Carpenter
The pint-sized pop star Sabrina Carpenter is simply ~dazzling~ tonight. She’s chosen a vintage Bob Mackie white strapless gown — originally worn by Madonna to the 1991 Academy Awards — and it’s covered with sequins and clear crystals. With her signature blonde curls, she’s giving very old Hollywood glamour, which I’m obsessed with. Brava!
Chappell Roan
Chappell Roan was never going to disappoint, and she looked like a literal medieval princess. She even has a sword! The “HOT TO GO!” singer arrived on her own antique rug, wearing a green velvet robe with intricate gold detailing.
Underneath, she revealed her sheer white and merlot gown. The devil is in the details though, and Roan understood the assignment. She wore wrist cuffs made from chainmail, armoured leg accessories, and even made sure her manicure matched.
Shaboozey
Shaboozey is up for Best New Artist and Song of the Summer, so he’s dressed to impress. Seeing as he’s a country music artist, it makes sense he’s gone for a bit of a Western-styled dress shirt with some fun pinstriped designs. He’s pulling it off, and it looks comfy too!
Lisa
Guess Lisa is not just the queen of K-pop, but also the queen of the red carpet. I love everything about this look! She’s gone for a custom Mugler outfit with a dramatic hood. The Blackpink member also looks like she’s in her Reputation era, choosing a super fun Bulgari Serpenti necklace.
Camila Cabello
Camila Cabello is brunette again and it seems like she’s in her goth era. With her black veil and accessories, it’s almost like she’s attending a funeral… could it be the funeral for her ex Shawn Mendes after she absolutely destroyed him in her latest song “Godspeed”? They’re both performing tonight, so it’ll be interesting to see if they have a run-in.
Lenny Kravitz
Lenny Kravitz is just a cool dude, okay! He went for a black tie look but chose to go with all leather. He went sans shirt and I’ve never been happier.
Katy Perry
I’m not sure about this one, Katy Perry kinda looks like she’s stuck back in the 2010s. Her shredded white one-shoulder bra top and skirt was certainly a choice, and I guess the little metal arm cuff is a nod to her “Woman’s World” music video? She’s here to accept the Video Vanguard Award this year, so I reckon she might have another look to debut during the awards show.
Megan Thee Stallion
Megan Thee Stallion is hosting and performing tonight, plus she’s also nominated for five awards. She’s already teased that she’ll be wearing a bunch of different outfits, but this first one is a winner. The rapper went with a black bodysuit paired with a dramatic mermaid skirt.
Tyla
All eyes were on Tyla after she won the Met Gala 2024 red carpet after wearing a dress made from literal sand. This ’90s throwback looked incredible on her, made from yellow fabric strips. She looks good, and she knows it!
Addison Rae
I have no words. I don’t know what’s going on here! TikToker Addison Rae has turned up in a lingerie set with a bunch of tulle attached to the back. There’s also some feathers poking out of the sculpted bra. She looks like she’s enjoying herself though, and maybe that’s all that matters…
Lil Nas X
I’m actually here for this weird Power Rangers look, because there’s nothing I hate more than a boring black tux. And this is anything but! If there’s one thing Lil Nas X is gonna do, it’s surprise and delight us.
Halsey
Halsey slipped into vintage Versace originally worn by Elizabeth Hurley back in 1996. The leopard print! Red hair! Obsessed.
Paris Hilton
Paris Hilton is sliving. This is an early ’00s throwback in the best way, and everything this woman does is truly iconic. Her sparkly silver Celia Kritharioti dress was custom-made and her accessories — like that statement choker — are perfection.
Halle Bailey
Another red moment, and Halle Bailey definitely understood the assignment. The asymmetrical strapless gown had a little tassel moment at the bottom over her red shoes.
