The new Chicken Big Mac was launched by McDonald's across the UK on Wednesday and the initial verdict is positive.
Three buns, two chicken patties, cheese, lettuce, pickles and the classic Big Mac sauce compromise McDonald's latest offering, which has long featured on the menu of Australian stores.
The chicken patties follow a new recipe consisting of 100% chicken breast meat.
Birmingham Live's Rebecca Astill said : "On first appearance the Chicken Big Mac looks well structured and tidy.... I went along to try it out on the launch day to put it to the ultimate test.
“However as soon as I started dipping into the bun and having a look inside that beautifully crafted structure started to collapse and the chicken patty was out one side while half the content of lettuce was out the other.
“The chicken patty lacks the grip the traditional big mac has as the patty is so dry - but who really eats a burger for its tidiness?
“I lifted a bun to find the top half was dry but the bottom two buns had a good lathering of Big Mac sauce.
“Inside, the chicken fillet was crispy and had an ample amount of cheese.
“I took a big bite of the burger and, as I suspected, it collapsed beneath my mouth.
“Despite the mess, the burger was actually really tasty.
“The main element coming through is the crunch from the chicken patty and the lettuce balanced by the cheese and pickled dills.
“On the second bite I managed to get more of the bottom half of the bun, which brought through the stronger taste of mustardy Big Mac sauce.
“The patty I thought could have had a little more seasoning on its coating but when eaten as a whole, the burger is delicious.
“As a whole, I loved the Chicken Big Mac and think it is exactly what McDonalds’ menu has been missing - I am actually disappointed to hear it will only be a temporary option.
“I will add that if you are someone who is not a fan of the Big Mac sauce and asks for it without, the burger will be dry as you miss the natural moistness of a beef patty.
“As for me, I will take the lot and certainly be back for another.”
