Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly 'torn' between two teams for his next destination. The Portuguese has left Manchester United just days after an explosive interview with Piers Morgan.
United and Ronaldo have mutually agreed to terminate his contract at Old Trafford, making the 38-year-old a free agent. Where he goes next, once the World Cup is over, will be a huge talking point in the coming days and weeks.
Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is known to be an admirer and had a meeting with his agent Jorge Mendes over the summer. Because of that, rumours continue to abound that a move to Stamford Bridge could now come to fruition.

But there is another destination in the Premier League. Newcastle, given their new-found wealth, have also been linked with completing a transfer in January, while a return to Sporting CP in Portugal has been mooted.
According to Spanish outlet Marca, Ronaldo is 'torn' between two teams - Newcastle in the Premier League and Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr.
However, the Telegraph report that Newcastle have 'zero interest' in financing a move for Ronaldo as his ego could disrupt the harmonious progress Eddie Howe is making on Tyneside. Howe has got Newcastle firing this season as they sit fourth in the table after avoiding relegation last term.
Our friends at Chronicle Live have also outlined Eddie Howe's stance on a deal for Ronaldo. When asked about the prospect in October, the Magpies boss said: "We’re trying to provide long-term growth, we’ve got a longer-term vision. At the moment, we have quite an ageing squad, so we probably need to invest in more young players. That’s probably a big part of our progression, really.
"We need to get the average age down, so it might not be a signing that we would necessarily look to make – but not under-estimating the quality of the player."
Graham Potter was coy on the idea of Ronaldo arriving in west London and wearing the Chelsea blue. Speaking last month he said: "Too often we zoom into individuals and forget it's a team game. Sometimes when the team isn't scoring, the person at the front of the pitch gets the zooming in, we've had it ourselves with Neal [Maupay], for example.
"From what I've seen, you still see the quality he has and the quality he brings to the group and the team."
football.london understands a move to Chelsea would be unlikely at this stage, but Boehly remains an admirer of the Portuguese superstar and the Blues are the new favourites with the bookmakers to complete a deal Betfair have the Blues at 5/2 to complete a deal, in from 4/1.
