The former Ibrox midfielder, who retired from football last season, is now a full-time pundit after taking the plunge while still a player for his previous side, Motherwell.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the 34-year-old praised the summer arrivals of Heart duo Lawrence Shankland and Derek McInnes as player and manager, respectively. "[I'm expecting] Genuinely more drama," he admitted, regarding the upcoming season.
"I just can't see how anything else because we've now got Martin O'Neill back at the helm at Celtic, who is always box office as we know, and Derek McInnes is now the Rangers manager. And we know how last season ended with those two in the dugouts for the last game of the season.

Is Derek McInnes the right man at the right time for Rangers?
"So, fully expected fireworks with those two guys. Lawrence Shankland and Derek McInnes when they finally return to Tynecastle to play against Hearts as well."
On the two new Rangers arrivals, Halliday continued, "The transfer window opened, I think, 48 hours ago, and I think already Rangers are in a better position. I think Lawrence Shankland's the best striker in Scotland; they've got him over the line. I think he's a leader; he was Hearts' captain.
"For me, I think they've got a better manager as well now."
