With nearly 900 pubs in the UK, you're never too far from your local Wetherspoon.
Whether it's a few pints after work or kickstarting a big night out, many of us will have ended up in a Wetherspoon pub over the years. What may come as a surprise to Edinburgh locals, however, is how highly rated several venues in the capital are.
According to the Express, a new list of pubs in the UK based on TripAdvisor reviews has placed two Edinburgh establishments in the top 20, both having a 4/5 rating.

Five of Scotland's Wetherspoon pubs made it into the list and it will be no surprise to see one of the two Edinburgh venues is none other than the Caley Picture House on Lothian Road.
Located next to Princes Street and slap-bang in the city centre, the Caley Picture House is often filled with a certain buzz in the air, not to mention the building's spectacular interior and history.
With a 4/5 rating, the pub has 249 excellent reviews on TripAdvisor and 75 terrible, based on a total of 671 reviews. "It's a cosy bar and comfortable and atmospheric. I love the place. It is too small to offer a large selection but local beers are excellent,” a review read.
The second Edinburgh Wetherspoons making the list is the Standing Order on George Street. Also in a prime location for those hitting the town or on their way back from work, the pub was highlighted for its level of service and quality of food.
Based on 1,715 reviews, 290 were excellent and 126 were terrible, giving the venue one of the highest overall ratings in the UK.
“Visited a few Wetherspoons in Edinburgh and we thought this was the nicest. Managed to get a table every time we went in. Prices were cheap, staff were friendly. The food was ok, what you would expect from a Wetherspoons,” a happy customer revealed.
