The Traitors' Maddy hopes for EastEnders return after surprising fans with past role

The Traitors star Maddy Smedley has teased a return to EastEnders after shocking people with her role on the show.

It was recently revealed that Maddy had played small roles in both EastEnders and Casualty.

She played a homeless woman called Rita in for one episode in EastEnders and Jasmine Madbury in Casualty in the last two years, which she revealed to her fellow The Traitors contestants during the gripping reality show – leaving her fellow Faithfuls and viewers shocked.

However, fans know her best thanks to her appearance on the BBC One popular series, The Traitor – which was fronted by Claudia Winkleman.

Maddy revealed she wants to 'say yes' to all the opportunities that come her way.

"I’d love to be in EastEnders again, I loved working with them," she explained.

Maddy added to The Sun : "It’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me, I grew up watching the show."

The actress previously revealed being on The Traitors felt like being on 'death row' as she opened up about her experience.

She was the last contestant to be banished before the final.

As she stood up and revealed she was a Faithful, the remaining five contestants – two of which are Traitors – were left wondering who they needed to get out next.

Maddy opened up about her experience on the show, admitting she found it very "intense" as she reflected on her journey.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, she said: "Yeah, I think it was very intense. I think everyone threw themselves into it.

"So I realised I'm more of a method actor 'cause I felt like I was on death row, but then I think everything's heightened. So even you as a person, you're like, 'who was that? Or did I say that?' And then each time I was like, 'oh my God. Very intense'."

Following the success of the show, it was revealed that the BBC is planning a celebrity version of it.

An insider said: "Everyone’s been thrilled with how much love there’s been for The Traitors and a celebrity version is a natural next step.

"Viewers will get to see different sides of some big names as they try to manipulate others or uncover the truth about fellow players."

Show host Claudia Winkleman has already picked a panel for the all-star show, which is likely to be a fundraiser for Children in Need or Comic Relief.
