The Tottenham player who ran in a different direction to teammates to celebrate Bergwijn winner

Steven Bergwijn's incredible stoppage-time winner sparked jubilant scenes inside the King Power Stadium on Wednesday evening after Tottenham completed the most remarkable of turnarounds.

Looking set to head back to the capital with no points in the bag after Leicester capitalised on Spurs squandering a number of chances to go 2-1 up, the Dutchman equalised right at the death with only nine seconds of the five minutes of added time remaining.

There was still time for a winner, however, as Youri Tielemans wastefully lost possession of the ball and it allowed Bergwijn in to cap off a stunning comeback as he collected Harry Kane's pass to net after rounding Kasper Schmeichel.

It was pandemonium in the away section and the Spurs team duly sprinted over to join Bergwijn celebrating in front of the travelling army.

Even Hugo Lloris ran the full length of the pitch to congratulate Bergwijn on his heroics, with Lucas Moura spotted pinching a supporters' hat in amongst the madness and even jumping on the back of two Leicester stewards to celebrate the winner.

However, there was one Spurs player who decided to head in a completely different direction altogether as soon as Bergwijn netted.

That was indeed Ben Davies as he went from his left-back berth to join in the wild celebrations on the touchline with Antonio Conte and his staff.

On a video posted on Twitter by user @SpursVersus, Davies can be seen jumping for joy as soon as the ball hits the net before heading towards Conte and diving into the celebrations, which also included Joe Rodon and Sergio Reguilon, in Spurs' technical area.

Davies may not have made his way to the away faithful immediately after the winning goal but he was the second Tottenham player there to celebrate once Craig Pawson blew the full-time whistle.

A jubilant Kane ran towards the away fans as soon as the whistle sounded rather than immediately choosing to shake hands with the opposition, with Davies there a few seconds later and Reguilon not far behind as he jumped on the England captain's shoulders.

Speaking about the win in his post-match press conference, Conte said: "I think it was an amazing game. Honestly, we didn’t deserve to lose the game and also we didn’t deserve to draw because we created many chances and in many circumstances we were unlucky.

"To arrive in added time losing 2-1 was honestly a great, great disappointment. At the end my players showed great resilience, great desire. Don't give up. This must be our philosophy, don’t give up and fight until the end.

"They showed me great desire. When we had equalised, we got the ball and we wanted to restart the game and to try to win. I think it was good for me to see this type of attitude from my players.

"Then I know very well that we have a long path to do, there is a lot of space for improvement but at the same time it was good to get three points against an important team like Leicester. Don’t forget Leicester won the FA Cup last season, the Community Shield this season and they finished in front of us in the table last season. They have a great manager who is doing a fantastic job here. To get three points against them here is very important for us."
