Three restaurants in the North East have been handed prestigious awards.
The Nation's Curry Awards 2023 took place on Monday night at Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel in Manchester. They recognise those who demonstrate a high level of skill and creativity in their culinary creations.
My Delhi, located on Clayton Street in Newcastle city centre, won the award for 'Street Food Restaurant of the Year'. The eatery serves up dishes which they say thrive on the roadside stalls across Delhi in India.

They previously won a special recognition award The English Curry Awards as well as an award for 'street food restaurant of the year' at the English Curry Awards and Asian Curry Awards.
Sherkhan Of Alnwick, based in Alnwick, Northumberland, was named as 'Curry Restaurant of the Year North'. They offer classic Indian meals as well as wine and cocktails.
Last year, the business won both regional and overall winner of 'curry restaurant of the year' at The English Curry Awards.
Lalon Shah, from Delhi 6 in South Shields, South Tyneside, has been handed the award for 'Curry King or Queen'. The restaurant, located on Ocean Road, creates street food classics such as Pani Puri, Bhel Puri and Vada Power.
Delhi 6 has previously won a number of awards including Best New Restaurant at the English Curry Awards in 2019.
