A Jaguar driver overtook three vehicles as he approached a blind corner and almost caused a head-on collision. Saji Thomas was driving his grey Jaguar on June 4 along the 40mph-limit A487 route near Llandysul in Ceredigion.
As he neared a sharp corner next to a crossroads, he ignored road warning signs, markings and a solid white line to prevent overtaking. An oncoming vehicle had to slow down to avoid a crash.
Footage from another driver's dashcam was sent to GoSafe — the Welsh Road Casualty reduction partnership — which identified Thomas, a 52-year-old from Liverpool, as the Jaguar driver. He was interviewed at Newtown police station before appearing at Aberystwyth Magistrates' Court on September 14.

Thomas pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and was banned from driving for 15 months. He will have to pass an extended test to get his licence back. The defendant was also ordered to pay £85 in court costs and a £95 victim services surcharge.
