Glasgow is home to one of the best food and drink scenes in the UK and we're lucky to have some amazing restaurants and bars right on our doorstep.
From restaurants offering a little taste of South Africa to Asai and everywhere in between – 2022 has been brilliant for the city's food and drink scene.
We can't wait to see what the New Year has in store and we've no doubt it's going to be a fantastic year for delicious cuisine and refreshing beverages.
With that in mind, we've put together a list of the bars and restaurants we can't wait to see more of in 2023:

BRU, Dumbarton Road
An exciting new venue in Partick is set to offer Glaswegians a taste of South Africa with delicious Scottish takes on dishes like Bunnychow and Biltong.
BRU opened its doors on Dumbarton Road at the site of the former St Louis Cafe offering brunch, small plates and gourmet pizzas on its gastropub-style menu.
The menu also features dishes inspired by South African-born owner Bradley Potteron’s homeland.

The Loveable Rogue, Whitehill Street
Glasgow's hippest gastropub opened its second location in the city's East End in December.
The Loveable Rogue has a wide selection of wines, locally brewed ales, beers, spirits, and classic cocktails, and a variety of fresh home-cooked dishes.
The Whitehill Street venue will offer season breakfasts, brunch/lunch and the famous Sunday roast menu.

Swadish, Ingram Street
The Glasgow restaurant was crowned the 'Best in Scotland' at a glittering ceremony in London often referred to as the ‘Curry Oscars’.
Swadish on Ingram Street in the Merchant City has capped off a hugely successful year by taking home the award at the prestigious British Curry Awards, which took place on November 28.
The popular Indian restaurant beat out the likes of fellow successful Glasgow restaurants Mowgli Street Food Glasgow and Charcoals Indian Restaurant, as well as others from around the country, in the final to win the overall award.

Salt and Chilli, Kilmarnock Road
The latest venture from exciting Scottish chef Jimmy Lee opened in the southside and we've pulled together a first look for people excited to go.
The newest Salt and Chilli Oriental restaurant officially opened on Kilmarnock Road, offering a taste of Hong Kong’s vibrant and exciting street food.
The trendy new restaurant and bar, which is open six days a week, is set over two floors and includes a bar, street-style window seating, and mezzanine dining.

SYMBØL, Sauchiehall Street
Glasgow's own producer and DJ, Frazi.er, is opening a new club on Sauchiehall Street with a packed programme of events launching at the end of January.
The Glasgow techno star, aka Fraser Stuart, is excited to be opening the underground venue SYMBØL, which will have a capacity of 250 and feature sets from top international and local DJs with a special launch night taking place on Boxing Day.
The new club will feature a newly-installed Funktion One sound system and an immersive light installation to make the experience even better for club-goers.

Monterey Jack’s, XSite Braehead
Food fans visiting XSite Braehead discovered a new Monterey Jack’s had opened in November.
The popular restaurant chain serves its American classics, including hot dogs, pizzas, desserts, and cocktails, as well as its gourmet burgers, which recently secured it ‘best burger’ at The Scottish Entertainment Awards, at the centre.
Housed within a ground floor unit, the new restaurant has the capacity for around 150 diners and will be open for all-day casual dining.

The Alchemist, George Square
The cosmos-inspired bar is set to open its doors to the public at the new venue just off George Square, unleashing its unique ‘theatre served’ experience and molecular mixology on Scotland’s biggest city.
Alongside the extensive cocktail list, dishes including Fried Chicken in a Basket and ‘Next Level’ chocolate brownie will also be on the menu.
The sizable venue can welcome up to 260 guests with a futuristic interior that includes a jaw-dropping ‘Moon Room’ and sparkling celestial touches throughout.

Bothwell House, Bothwell Street
New restaurant Bothwell House opened its doors on Bothwell Street in September, with the brasserie and cocktail house replacing what was Grill on the Corner.
Along with a Mediterranean and Middle Eastern-infused menu, the restaurant boasts a nature-inspired aesthetic offering a sensory and serene calming atmosphere complete with an expansive cherry blossom tree.

August House, Mitchell Street
The new late-night spot shaking things up on Mitchell Street, August House offers drinks, food and DJs serving up house music bangers until 1 am, seven nights a week.
The bar and restaurant offers a range of exciting cocktails and pan-Asian cuisine and is set to host various DJs seven nights a week playing the best in-house music whilst special events are scheduled to be hosted regularly in the unique basement events space.

Innis & Gun Taproom, West Nile Street
The much-anticipated taproom from one of Scotland's top brewers opened its doors at the end of November in the city centre.
Innis & Gunn opened their new flagship bar on West Nile Street, with 21 rotational taps alongside a menu of traditional pub grub big plates, as well as smaller plates that are great for sharing and perfect for accompanying beer, with the team confirming they use only the best Scottish (and local) produce wherever they can as well as having a healthy selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes for people to enjoy too.
