Real Madrid are in the market for a centre-forward during the summer transfer window. That is because Ballon d'Or winner Karim Benzema has made the move to Saudi Arabia, leaving a big hole in Carlo Ancelotti's starting XI.
A number of high-profile names have been linked to the Santiago Bernabeu, with the likes of Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe on the shortlist. However, the likelihood of either of those players leaving their clubs this summer is slim, with Real more looking towards 2024 for one or both of them, if reports are to be believed.
That leaves Los Blancos in something of a quandary. Who do they get in this summer to replace Benzema?
One of the names in the frame is Harry Kane. The Tottenham striker notched 30 goals in the Premier League this season and with one year left on his current contract in N17 has garnered plenty of interest from other clubs.
Madrid are thought to have enquired over completing a deal for the Spurs all-time top goalscorer, with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy more likely to accept a move abroad for his star man than elsewhere in the Premier League.
Kane has always maintained it is his desire to win silverware with Tottenham, but, turning 30 this year, that window of hope is ever dwindling.

Tottenham fans have been boosted by news that Real Madrid are looking elsewhere, and not just at Kane though. According to David Ornstein, there are other names in the frame, with one surprise contender to move to the Bernabeu. Talking on the FIVE podcast, transfer guru Ornstein said: "It would give Real Madrid a real quandary, who do they go for if they don't get Harry Kane? Maybe a Lautaro Martinez at Inter Milan has been suggested to me and reported in certain quarters.
"But beyond that, top, proven goalscorers for Real Madrid's style and levels of expectation? We're all talking about [Victor] Osimhen, but is that the right type of player for Real Madrid in the way he scores his goals? [Randal] Kolo Muani, [Rasmus] Hojlund. And it's why someone like Kai Havertz has been linked to Real Madrid, because they're looking to potential solutions."
