Chelsea are continuing to focus their efforts across the pitch in the final hours of the summer transfer window.
The Blues have already had a busy transfer deadline day, first agreeing a deal for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang involving Marcos Alonso going the other way, before later coming to another deal to bring in Dennis Zakaria to the club on a season-long loan.
The two moves had been expected to be the last despite talk of Memphis Depay remaining an option for Thomas Tuchel and another late window alternative has come about.

Football.london had reported earlier in the month that Todd Boehly wanted to add 19-year-old defender Ronnie Edwards from Peterborough United to his incomings this month, and now Chelsea have made significant progress with a move after having two bids rejected for the player.
Felix Johnston reports that: "Chelsea and Crystal Palace have both had bids accepted by Peterborough for Ronnie Edwards. Told bids are both £8million + £3million addons. Just up to player to decide now.
"Whichever deal goes through, Ronnie Edwards will return to Peterborough United on loan until January."
Edwards, a centre-back, is one of several highly rated players to come from Peterborough in recent years with the Blues also having previous interest in Leonardo Da Silva Lopes. Posh also had Ivan Toney for his breakout season before moving to Brentford. Edwards is seen on a different level to these players though, being ranked inside the top 30 players born in 2002 by CIES football observatory.
Edwards was part of the England Under-19s side that won the European Championships earlier this summer alongside Chelsea players Carney Chukwuemeka, Teddy Sharman-Lowe, Bashir Humphreys and Harvey Vale.
