The Super Mario Galaxy Movie has already been upfront about its inclusion of Glen Powell's Fox McCloud.
Now, it's going one step further by releasing a sizzle reel of Fox's best scenes from the Mario movie sequel online, less than a week after it was released in theatres.
In the teaser, which you can see below, fans can now see the moment Fox flies onto the scene with his trademark style that won Toad over in record time. And, yes, there's even a look at Fox's backstory, depicted in beautiful anime-style visuals.

In it, Fox recounts how he is trapped in Mario's universe away from his familiar Arwing crew of Slippy, Peppy and Falco.
I already mentioned in my Super Mario Galaxy Movie review that dangling such a juicy premise in front of our faces was cruel, so this additional tease feels like torture. Let's hope any potential Star Fox spin-off movie adopts this eye-catching art style
Not long after release, it was revealed that Powell contacted Nintendo and Illumination directly, adding that it was his "dream" to appear in a Star Fox movie.
In a separate interview with Forbes, Mario creator and The Super Mario Galaxy Movie executive producer Shigeru Miyamoto anticipated "significant" internal resistance to dropping the Arwing pilot into the Mario movie. While that wasn't the case, Miyamoto dampened expectations of a Smash Bros.-style crossover in future Mario sequels.
Whether it's the Fox Effect or not, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie has already taken a considerable amount at the box office. Domestically, the cosmic-set sequel garnered $190 million over its five-day opening, with it taking a combined $370 million worldwide.
