The stunning seaside cottage up for sale on Scotland's whisky island

Whisky fans could soon be looking at their dream home and a chance to escape to Scotland's very own whisky island after a stunning seaside cottage on Islay went up for sale. The beautiful, two-bedroom cottage which overlooks the island’s southwestern coastline has just been put on the market.

Its dramatic and rugged location lies not far from the Bruichladdich and Kilchoman distilleries and offers beautiful panoramic views out to sea and the coast of the Rhinns of Islay.

Priced at offers over £390,000, Poll A'chapuill in the Portnahaven area, comes with just under a third of an acre of land.

Located on the outskirts of the coastal village of Portnahaven, the property sits around 8 miles away from the village of Port Charlotte (one of two ferry terminals on the island).

The world-famous, challenging golf links at Machrie are also close by, as is the island’s small airport operating daily flights to Glasgow.

Speaking about this exciting property, property agents Oban-based Bell Ingram said: "Situated in a glorious, elevated position and benefiting from panoramic views across the rugged coastline surrounding Portnahaven, Poll A’chapuill, 3 Claddach offers buyers a beautifully presented two-bedroom detached house."

They added that the rear gardens feature a striking stone wall design, with steps leading down to a lower terrace, described as the perfect place in which to sit and take in the glorious views across the rugged coastline.

The property also comes with a modern interior and a sizable garage which is easily large enough to accommodate a vehicle, while maintaining space for storage and workshop.
