Fans of American indie superstars The Strokes have packed out TRNSMT's front of stage area - as the band made its first return to Scotland in 11 years to the day.
The band - known for hits such as Reptilia, Last Nite and Bad Decisions - last played a Scottish gig in 2011, on July 9 that year at T In The Park on the BBC Radio 1/NME stage. It gave their Saturday night show at TRNSMT, T In The Park's spiritual successor, a degree of poignancy.
Frontman Julian Casablancas strutted out on stage and yelled to thousands of screaming fans: "Good morning! It's been a while!" One in the crowd shouted back: "Eleven ******* years!"
The Saturday night headliners then launched into breakout song Is This It?, from their debut album of the same name, to the rapturous approval of the Glasgow Green crowd.
The Strokes broke onto the scene as an early success of the early-2000s indie rock revival. Following a period of success that saw them release albums Room on Fire and First Impressions of Earth, the band entered a hiatus and wound down the number of live shows they played.
Continuing to address the crowd, Casablancas said: "I haven't been to Glasgow for a very long time...drove by the Barrowlands where we used to play, I miss that place."
He added: "Back in Glasgow, good some good Glasgow memories, lots."
TRNSMT's main stage has a front section for die-hard fans, who can access it via the area in front of the stage or side entrances further back from the arena. However, it was closed off around half an hour before the Strokes' set began on Saturday night.
Day three of TRNSMT kicks off at 12pm on June 10, with top Scottish acts including Nina Nesbitt, Alex Amor, Dylan John Thomas and DJ Hannah Laing joining headliner Lewis Capaldi to round-off the annual summer fixture.
