A pair of off-the-plan penthouses in The Store's eastern tower have fetched two of the biggest prices recorded for Newcastle apartments.
Final sale prices have not been disclosed, however, the Newcastle Herald understands the 29th floor apartments were priced in the vicinity of $5 million each.
Only a handful of apartments in the region have sold for more, headlined by the $6.5 million off-the-plan Dairy Farmers Towers penthouse that set a new apartment record last month.
Colliers residential director Ed Crawford said both penthouses comprised more than 200 square metres and had sold to local buyers.

"It's not surprising they went, it's local people who understand how the city's evolving," he said.
"Both of them have panoramic views basically of the entire harbour and on a clear day you'd be looking up to Port Stephens.
"They're amazing outlooks ... it's views that have never been seen before because the aspect and height are unique."
About 75 per cent of apartments in The Store's eastern tower have sold, comprising about a third of the project.
The western tower will also have two penthouses, which Mr Crawford believes will also sell quickly.
"We could have sold those two [eastern penthouses] 10 times over ... it's surprising how many buyers are competing for the best apartments at the very top end of the market," he said.
"You always think they're going to be the hard ones to sell ... often they're the first ones to go."

ONE-BEDDER SELLS FOR $980K
An oversized one-bedroom apartment in the McCaffrey building has sold for a huge $980,000.
A retired Hunter Valley couple bought 15/7 King Street as a weekender after the eighth-level property attracted interest from Sydney downsizers.
At 76 square metres the apartment offered more space than the 50-55 square metre floor plan typically seen in one-bedroom apartments, and took in a separate study.
Movable's Jason Maxwell said the study couldn't technically be classified as a second bedroom because it had no window.
"It was always going to set a record I just didn't know [by] how much," he said.
"It was certainly more than a one-bedder, but it wasn't a two."
Newcastle's one-bedroom record was set earlier this year by an east-facing Arena apartment that sold for $835,000 with Walkom Real Estate's Ben Jarvis and Thomas Hook.
