Rangers fans are convinced the future’s bright after a handful of Giovanni van Bronckhorst ’s next generation of starlets shone against Queen of the South on Tuesday night.
The likes of Leon King and Adam Devine put in fine performances in the Premier Sports Cup win at Ibrox. But Alfredo Morelos remains a talking point and one supporter posed a transfer theory on the Rangers striker. Well, he’s convinced by it anyway.
Stephen Mulhearn, Dumbarton, said: “It’s not the biggest shock to hear Giovanni van Bronckhorst expects Alfredo Morelos to remain at Ibrox after Thursday’s deadline. I’m convinced Steven Gerrard had copious amount of calls from managers down south regarding his opinion of him and the message would have been – don’t touch him with a barge pole. Hence him remaining because he’d spend more time off the park than on it with his disciplinary record.” Now back to those Ibrox kids...
John Bruce emailed: “Rangers, as expected, beat Queen of the South who gave a good account of themselves. Veterans Davies and Arfield strolled the game, but it was the raft of youngsters Gio played who caught the eye. Ure scored in less than 10 minutes, King looks assured beyond his years at centre-back, Devine played well as an attacking full-back and McCann looks every bit as special a talent as Alex Lowry – who has yet to return after suffering that horror challenge in his last game against Dumbarton – whilst the others showed up well in their cameos. With these youngsters, the future is bright.”

The Champions League begins next week and it’s a hot topic among Rangers and Celtic supporters who it’s fair to say are salivating over the ties against the likes of Liverpool and Real Madrid. Mind you, it doesn’t stop the point-scoring.

If they’re that good how did they not beat teams like Motherwell Ross County Dundee Utd ( apparently an amateur team ) last season to win the league ? This current Celtic team is so bad yet they’e current champions and are already clear at the top again.”

Jack Ross was sacked by Dundee United earlier this week and Arabs remain shellshocked by their start to the season.
