The United States has released $600 million in previously frozen funding to Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, reversing a decision announced by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in June 2025.
In a joint statement issued with the State Department, HHS said the money covers congressionally appropriated funds for both fiscal 2025 and fiscal 2026, and that the release follows commitments the administration secured from the alliance.
