Heavy rainfall overnight and this morning has left much of Scotland struggling with flooding.
The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) has issued more than two dozen flood alerts and flood warnings – the more serious category – with “relentless” rain predicted over the Southern Highlands and western Central Belt.
As a result, several SPFL fixtures have already been postponed due to waterlogged pitches. In the Scottish Premiership, Dundee v Ross County has been cancelled after the surface at Dens Park failed an inspection.
A statement on the club website read: "Following the referee’s pitch inspection this morning, today’s cinch Premiership match with Ross County has been postponed.
"Constant rainfall throughout the night and more forecasted has meant the match has been called off due to a waterlogged pitch.
"With more heavy rain forecasted for today, the safety of travelling fans has been considered."
The Scottish Championship fixture between Dunfermline and Arbroath has been postponed for the same reason.
Two games in League Two have also fallen victim to the bad weather with Elgin City v Stenhousemuir and Bonnrigg Rose against East Fife both being called off.
