The Queen Consort has been spotted wearing a special Welsh-themed brooch during the Royal visit to Wales. Camilla and her husband King Charles III were visiting Cardiff on Friday in their first visit since Queen Elizabeth II died aged 96 last Thursday.
As the couple arrived at Llandaff Cathedral where they were due to attend a service of prayer and reflection, Camilla was spotted wearing a brooch which drew the attention of viewers and onlookers. The brooch is in fact the diamond Leek Brooch of the Welsh Guards which was often worn by the Queen at events related to the Welsh Guards through the 1970s to recent years.

A traditional symbol of Wales, the diamond leek brooch is thought to have been passed to Charles, formerly Prince of Wales, when he replaced his father as Colonel of the Welsh Guards in 1975. Diana, Princess of Wales previously wore the brooch and Camilla is now often seen wearing it at Welsh events.
Charles and Camilla will travel to Cardiff Castle this afternoon where Charles will hold a private audience with Welsh First Minister Mark Drakeford and the presiding officer before attending a reception hosted by the Welsh Government.
