Travellers can fly to a number of sunny of destinations from Newcastle Airport, with the idyllic Greek islands, Turkey and as far afield as the Maldives on the list. There is one sunny destination travellers could get to for under £100 this summer.
Set off the coast of Spain you could fly to Palma de Mallorca out of Newcastle on a budget, with the total price of return flights coming to less than the price of other one-way tickets.
Know for its white sandy beaches, vibrant art scene and of course its food, Palma has become a popular destination for UK travellers. But it's not always the cheapest to get to, after scouring routes we've found flights from £30 with easyJet.

Picking the right dates is key to getting the best price, especially during the summer when prices each way can reach upwards of £300 a ticket.
The cheapest time to fly out is towards the end of summer, on August 30 which costs £37 each and when combined with September's cheapest return flight it comes to just £136 return (£99 return leg).
Next in price is a last-minute return flight at the end of May, which works out to be one of the cheapest times to fly the route. Travellers will pay £89 on May 31 and £58 leaving Palma on June 9, bringing the total return ticket price to £147.
The most expensive flight is on July 8 for £309 out of Newcastle and return flight one week later costs £105, bring the total price to £405 (definitely not a budget route).
The Spanish island is also available to fly to with Jet2 and an option for those looking for an inclusive hotel stay with the price. The cheapest deal we've found in the height of summer (June 2023) is £577 per person.
Although at first glance it's a lot pricier than the easyJet flight alternative it includes return flights, 22KG hold baggage, 10KG hand luggage, and a seven-night stay at tent Playa de Palma with a bed and brunch package.
Finding holidays for as little as possible can also be found on comparison sites like TravelSupermarket, which scours the web for the best deals, depending on your departure location and destination.
