There was no choice for NBA MVP other than Joel Embiid.
Despite having to play catch up due to injury, Embiid dominated the NBA in his 66 games played this season and now has the hardware to show for it. On Tuesday, Embiid was named NBA MVP for the 2022-23 season after coming in as the runner up for two straight years. With 33.1 average points per game alongside nabbing the NBA’s scoring champion title, Embiid was the clear-cut choice for the league’s most valuable player.
Amidst getting ready to return to the Philadelphia 76ers’ playoff run, Embiid and his teammates watched the announcement of the award live on Tuesday. And once the news came down, the Sixers gave Embiid quite the wholesome celebration.

I’m not sure what I love more here: the Sixers’ heartwarming celebrations or Embiid’s bashful reaction that turns emotional pretty quickly. What a moment for Embiid all the same!
