'The Sims 4' Immersive Map Mod Connects Every World on One Map

"The Sims 4" has expanded far beyond its original collection of neighborhoods. Over the years, updates and expansion packs have added dozens of new worlds for players to explore. Yet one part of the experience has stayed mostly unchanged.

The world selection screen still treats each destination as a separate location.

Modder SimMattically wants to change that. The Immersive Map Mod for "The Sims 4" puts the game's worlds on a single map. The result gives players a clearer sense of how these locations might connect.

'The Sims 4' Gets One Large World Map

The Immersive Map Mod changes how players view "The Sims 4" worlds. Instead of choosing from a simple list of separate destinations, players can see them positioned across a single larger map.

This approach gives the game a stronger sense of geography. The worlds no longer feel completely isolated from one another.

The idea also works well with the game's existing design. Several "Sims 4" worlds are inspired by real-world locations and regions. The custom map places them in positions that reflect those influences.

SimMattically worked with illustrator and graphic designer Edkisn on the artwork. The map uses a Maxis Match-inspired style. This helps it fit more naturally alongside the game's existing visuals.

Custom Features Add More Depth

The Immersive Map Mod is more than a simple replacement for the world selection screen.

It supports the base game and various "Sims 4" packs. It also allows players to use custom-content maps, giving creators and players more ways to personalize the experience.

Players can customize the placement of tooltips on the map. These tooltips can show the name and description of a selected world.

The mod can also include animated clouds. This small detail gives the map a more active and polished appearance.

The single-map layout may also make traveling between worlds feel more connected. Rather than jumping between unrelated menu options, players can see the broader collection of destinations at once.

How to Install the Immersive Map Mod

Installing the Immersive Map Mod is relatively simple. The mod comes as a single package file. Players need to place that file inside their "The Sims 4" Mods folder.

There is one limitation for players who want to try it immediately, according to Polygon.

The mod is currently in early access. Access requires a $5 Patreon subscription to SimMattically.

Players who do not want to pay can wait for the public release. SimMattically has indicated that mods are generally made available to everyone within one or two months. However, there is currently no confirmed free-release date for this particular mod.

More Connected Way to Explore 'The Sims 4'

"The Sims 4" has continued to grow with new worlds, neighborhoods, and downloadable content. The Immersive Map Mod offers a different way to experience that expansion.

The modder did a great job in combining the worlds into one map. Thanks to this, it makes the game's locations feel less like disconnected destinations.
