There is still plenty of work to be done in West Yorkshire as Leeds United continue their summer transfer business. Seven players have already come through the Elland Road doors and almost £100million has been spent as the club look to learn from last season’s near-fatal mistakes.
Almost all of Victor Orta’s priority positions have been filled, with central midfield reinforcements arriving in the shape of Marc Roca, Tyler Adams and Darko Gyabi. Leeds also replaced the departing Raphinha with Luis Sinisterra, while the arrivals of Rasmus Kristensen and Brenden Aaronson helped Marsch to implement his philosophy.
But Orta remains hard at work behind the scenes to add further quality to the squad, with a striker the absolute priority for much of the summer. Junior Firpo’s injury against Blackpool, however, has resurfaced the need for a left-back and Jack Harrison’s uncertain future has ignited talk of another winger.

Elland Road has been tipped as a destination for a host of names by the bookies - some more seriously than others - and LeedsLive have picked out seven of the most intriguing, according to odds given by Sky Bet.
Danny Ings - 6/1
The Aston Villa man was of interest to a few Premier League clubs amid previous speculation that manager Steven Gerrard was willing to sell, but Ings’ prominence during pre-season - including a goal against Leeds - suggests he will remain in the midlands.
Nevertheless, the 30-year-old remains a person of interest for the Whites who are second favourites - behind Brighton at 4/1 - to secure a deal. Jesse Marsch is desperate for an additional striker and may be forced to look at alternative options if they fail to land Charles De Ketelaere.
Adama Traore - 8/1
The rapid winger has been linked with a move to Elland Road ever since Victor Orta arrived at the club from Middlesbrough in 2017, and speculation over Jack Harrison’s future has seemingly reignited Leeds’ search for a winger.
Traore spent last season on loan at Barcelona as looks surplus to requirements at Molineux, and Leeds are third in line - behind Everton at 3/1 and Tottenham at 6/1 - to bring the Spanish winger to West Yorkshire.
Nicolas Pepe - 10/1
Another whose odds have come down since Newcastle United registered their interest in Harrison is Arsenal winger Nicolas Pepe. The Frenchman joined the Gunners for a whopping £72million in 2019 but hasn’t come close to that valuation and has fallen down the pecking order at the Emirates.
Newcastle are now favourites to sign the 27-year-old after Leeds slapped a £35million price tag on Harrison, with Paris Saint-Germain, Sevilla and Lyon all more likely than Jesse Marsch’s side.
Dwight McNeil - 12/1
Burnley’s relegation to the Championship has been compounded by the inevitable threat of losing their key players to top-flight sides. Ben Mee and James Tarkowski both left Turf Moor upon the expiry of their contracts, while Nick Pope joined Newcastle.
Next in demand is Dwight McNeil who consistently looked a step above his Claret teammates and has bags of potential at just 22-years-old. But while the Whites have been mentioned in the pack, they are someway off the likes of Crystal Palace, Everton and West Ham in any potential pursuit.
Ryan Kent - 14/1
Similarly to Traore, Rangers winger Ryan Kent has been perpetually linked with a move to Elland Road as a long term target for Marcelo Bielsa. The 25-year-old’s contract expires next summer and four impressive seasons at Ibrox have ignited talk of a move away.
But unless Leeds lose Harrison, they will not be in the market for another winger and interest in Kent as a player has cooled significantly. Aston Villa, Manchester United and Wolves are all ahead of the Whites.
Harry Winks - 14/1
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks looks set to leave the club after falling down the pecking order under Antonio Conte. He was linked with a move to Elland Road back when Leeds were moving for midfielders, but the arrivals of Tyler Adams, Marc Roca and Darko Gyabi have silenced those rumours.
The 26-year-old is a strong favourite at just 6/4 to join Frank Lampard at Everton, while moves to Southampton and Leicester are also more likely than Leeds.
Ivan Toney - 25/1
Leeds are some way down the pecking order when it comes to Ivan Toney’s future destination. The Brentford striker had a bit of needle with Whites fans last season and might not fancy a move to Elland Road.
Leeds may also not be willing to stump up the £30million needed to catch Brentford’s eye, with Newcastle United - where the striker spent three years, mostly on loan elsewhere - leading the race at 3/1.
