Celtic have received £6.5 million for midfielder Reo Hatate after he completed a deadline-day move to Burnley.
The 28-year-old joined the Championship side before Tuesday night’s English transfer deadline, signing a three-year contract at Turf Moor.
The Celtic Way reports that Celtic are understood to have agreed a £6.5m fee, with further add-ons included in the deal.
Hatate said: “This is a great move for me. It’s my first time playing in England, and it’s a fantastic club to be joining.
“I’m hoping to bring my experience and knowledge to the dressing room and help the team on the pitch as much as possible to achieve our aim.”

The Japan international made 191 appearances for Celtic after arriving from Kawasaki Frontale in January 2022 during Ange Postecoglou’s first season in charge.
He scored 33 goals and registered 31 assists, helping the club win five Scottish Premiership titles, three Scottish Cups and two League Cups.
Celtic assistant Shaun Maloney admitted he would miss Hatate, having previously faced the midfielder as a coach.
He said: “I have watched Reo Hatate for a long time now. I have coached against him and I think he is a brilliant player. I think what he has done at the club has been really, really good. He has won many titles here.
“If he does [leave], I will personally miss him. I think he has been a brilliant player.”
