The Script vow to 'celebrate the life' of guitarist Mark Sheehan at upcoming gigs

The Script will celebrate the life of their lead guitarist Mark Sheehan at their next two gigs a month on from his sad death.

In a social media post today the band shared a sweet video tribute to Mark featuring the song 'Arms Open'. In the video, Mark could be seen performing on stages around the world with lead singer Danny O'Donoghue and drummer Glen Power.

Mark sadly passed away aged 46 last month after a short illness, with his bandmates Danny and Glen leading tributes to the talented musician who they called their "brother in arms". The Script's remaining members Danny and Glen have now said that they will celebrate Mark at their next two shows.

The band wrote: "Arms Open meant so much to the three of us. It sums up our journey together from the start, always there for each other.

"Mark would want us all to keep going so that’s what we’re going to do. We’d like to celebrate Mark at our next two shows with you. Hold up a digital candle on your phone during Arms Open and we’ll all remember him together."

The Script are set to support Pink! on June 7 and 8 in Bolton University Stadium in Greater Manchester in the UK, and it's possible they may perform their special tribute to Mark onstage. The 46-year-old was the father of teenage children and lived in the States with his wife of more than 20 years Rina.

Mark was originally from the Liberties, and he is known as one of the founding members of the chart-topping band in the early 2000s along with lead singer Danny O'Donoghue and drummer Glen Power.

The band would go on to sell 20 million records with hits such as We Cry, The Man Who Can’t Be Moved and Hall of Fame. Mark and Danny were best friends since they were 12 growing up in Dublin.
