The Queen is lying in rest at St Giles' Cathedral in Edinburgh after a procession from the nearby Palace of Holyroodhouse which was watched by thousands of people.
Her coffin was transported to Edinburgh on Sunday from Balmoral Castle where she died, aged 96.
On Monday afternoon, the doors of St Giles' Cathedral were opened to tens of thousands of wellwishers who shuffled passed the royal family who held a Vigil of the Princes.

Tuesday, September 13
King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla will travel to Hillsborough Castle in Northern Ireland where they will view an exhibition on the Queen and her long association with the country.
After a short reception at Hillsborough, the King and the Queen Consort will travel to St Anne's Cathedral for a service of prayer and reflection.
The couple will then travel to London.
In the afternoon, the Queen's coffin will be flown from Edinburgh Airport on a Royal Air Force aircraft to RAF Northolt.
Princess Anne, the Queen's only daughter, will also travel on the flight.
Then, from Northolt, the coffin will be driven to Buckingham Palace to rest in the Bow Room.
Wednesday, September 14
The King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery will take the coffin by gun carriage from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall on Wednesday afternoon.
Members of the royal family and a military parade will accompany the gun carriage.
King Charles III will lead the procession behind the carriage, which will be draped in the Royal Standard.
The public will be able to watch the procession which will travel via Queen's Gardens, The Mall, Horse Guards and Horse Guards Arch, Whitehall, Parliament Street, Parliament Square and New Palace Yard.
Once at Westminster, the Archbishop of Canterbury will hold a service which the royal family will attend.
Thursday, September 15
Thursday will be the first full day in which the Queen's body will lie in state in Westminster Hall.
It is expected members of the public will wait in long queues, possibly overnight, to pay their respects to the Queen.
It is expected her coffin will be closed.
It will remain at Westminster until the funeral on Monday.
Friday, September 16
Leaders from around the Commonwealth are expected to start arriving in London ahead of the funeral.
The King and the Queen Consort will visit Wales.
On Friday evening, it is expected the royal family will engage in another Vigil of the Princes — this time at Westminster Hall.
At the weekend, the King is likely to host a reception for foreign royals and visiting leaders, but the details are yet to be confirmed.
Sunday, September 18
Britons will hold a minute's silence at 8pm as a national moment of reflection, according to Prime Minister Liz Truss's spokesman.
Monday, September 19
The Queen's body will be taken from Westminster Hall to Westminster Abbey on Monday morning for the state funeral.
It is anticipated the royal family will walk behind a gun carriage as it conveys the coffin to Westminster Abbey in a short procession.
The funeral will be televised.
After that, the Queen's body will be taken to St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle where she will be interred next to her husband, Prince Philip.
