The Rochdale YouTube and TikTok star with millions of fans all over the world

He started performing after receiving a magic kit for Christmas at the age of six and was inspired by magician to the stars Dynamo. And after stopping crowds in their tracks as he showcased his skills on the streets of Manchester, Dan Rhodes has gone on to become one of the most successful and beloved YouTubers in the world.

The talented teen magician from Rochdale has 15.5 million subscribers to his YouTube channel and 10.5 million on TikTok. And he now has a number one book to his name after releasing The Magic.

The book, which was released here in the UK on Thursday, had already reached number one for new Magic and Illusion releases in America ahead of going on sale in the United States in November. The Magic tells his journey from amateur magician to global TikTok star and gives tips on how to become a social media inspiration.

Dan, who was tipped by Dynamo as 'one to look out for' when he was just 10-years-old, said: "It's the best feeling in the world, the fact that I get to do magic as a full time job."

He told us: "It's always been one of my goals to have my own book one day, ever since I went to Dynamo's book signing at Waterstones in Manchester when I was nine or 10. I remember thinking 'I want to do my own signing one day.'"

Dan's part-memoir includes 'trick guides' to help young magicians get started and a history of the craft of the magician. The 19-year-old built up a huge online following after being championed by Dynamo, who he has met several times.

Asked if anyone had ever impressed him with their magic, Dynamo said about him: "There's a young kid called Daniel Rhodes. Dan Dan the Magic Man. He's from Manchester.

"He's about 10-years-old and he sent me a YouTube clip of him doing some of his magic. And I thought 'that's alright, that's alright' and he did this thing at the end and I was like 'woah.' I think it took everyone in my office by surprise."

Dan starred on one of the USA's most popular entertainment shows, Little Big Shots, when he was just 13. And he appeared on the 2019 series of Britain's Got Talent.

Dan was seen 'sawing' judge Amanda Holden in half. Everyone was on tenterhooks before he magically put Amanda's body back together again.

He was also a child actor who starred in adverts for Morrisons supermarkets alongside former cricketer Andrew Flintoff. It was at school that the former The Newhey Community Primary School and Hollingworth Academy pupil put to use one of his tricks.

"A supply teacher came in and I was eating chocolate at the back of the class," he recalled. "So I made it disappear. They said 'I didn't know you were a magician.' Then, instead of the bar of chocolate, I pulled out a pack of cards and said 'I don't know what you're talking about."
