The rise and rise of pinky bling

For centuries, the category of pinky rings was dominated by the signet ring. Those chunky family crest-emblazoned creations were favoured by everyone from Henry VIII to any given cast member of Made In Chelsea. But a fresher, more sparkly take has emerged of late. Behold: the rise of pinky bling.

First, there was Meghan Markle, who’s been sporting a rock on her little finger since her days as a working royal. Nobody who sat through the dried flower-dusting of her Netflix show With Love, Meghan could have failed to miss her bezel-set emerald-cut diamond pinky ring. The chic piece, made by jeweller Lorraine Schwartz, is worth an estimated £60,000.
