People are being warned to check their drinking habits throughout the festive period as experts explain the 'red flag' signs of a functioning alcoholic.
Throughout Christmas and the New Year many people may be enjoying more to drink than usual. However, a recent study revealed that almost two thirds (61 per cent) of drinkers in the UK over-indulge during the festive season.
The research team at Private Rehab Clinic Delamere have investigated how much people are spending on alcohol during each week of the festive period. According to their research, those who binge drink during Christmas and the New Year consume 22 units or more of alcohol a week while spending an eye-watering £62.55 on wine or £41.20 on beer.
