Arsenal have confirmed the reasons why both Takehiro Tomiyasu and Emile Smith Rowe are absent for the clash with Watford at Vicarage Road.

The pair missed the Gunners' dramatic 2-1 win over Wolves last Thursday at the Emirates as Mikel Arteta's side completed a late comeback to put their push for a top four spot in a good position.

There were hopes that the pair could be available for Sunday's match though after Arteta revealed the pair could be in contention.
