Aberdeen could land a stunning £8million after sealing a megabucks deal with Liverpool for defender Calvin Ramsay.
The 18-year-old is heading to Anfield for a medical after agreement was reached between the clubs for his glamour five-year contract on Merseyside.
Record Sport understands the Dons have negotiated an initial £4.5million payment for the talented teenage defender.
And Pittodrie chiefs are believed to have agreed as much as an additional £3.5m in appearance-based add-ons for the highly-rated with a 20 per cent sell-on clause also included. Liverpool sources claim the fee is slightly lower.
Ramsay’s deal smashes Aberdeen's previous sales record after they secured £3m from Nottingham Forest for stopper Scott McKenna with a further £1 million added after the Scotland star earned promotion to the English Premier League with the club last term.
The kid now has a golden opportunity in his own career as he moves to one of Europe’s elite clubs.
Ramsay has been signed by Jurgen Klopp to offer competition and back-up to England international Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Klopp has enjoyed great success with his purchase of Scotland captain Andy Robertson and the Reds ace can follow in his bootprints.
Provided there are no unforeseen hitches, Ramsay will be with the Liverpool squad for the start of pre-season training next month and be on the club’s scheduled tour to south-east Asia.
It’s believed he will be Klopp’s last signing of this window.
