Kris Boyd insists the role James Penrice played in Rangers' win over Celtic should not be underestimated.
The left-back was asked by manager Derek McInnes to step into midfield to marshall the threat of visiting midfielder Benjamin Nygren, and he effectively nullifed the Swede.
It was a gamble as it left the home side operating with a back three up against Celtic's front three of Camilo Duran, Kasper Hogh and Sebastian Tounekti. But the gamble paid off.
Boyd has sent credit the way of Derek McInnes for the decision and also Penrice for how he carried the plan out.

He told the Scottish Sun: "Don't underestimate the role James Penrice played in the whole thing, going into that middle of the pitch.
"I think the European game in the Czech Republic, Derek tried to do something similar and we touched on it at the time.
"Penrice was coming in the pitch and Makhanya, Fernandez or whoever was on that side was trying to feed it to Gassama to get one-v-one.
"I thought Penrice yesterday, first of all stopping Nygren playing. We all know when he gets on the ball, and the timing of his runs in the box can be very dangerous. But he never got the opportunity to do that yesterday.
"I thought James Penrice was another standout for Rangers.
"But Derek McInnes deserves huge praise for being brave enough to go with that formation."
