The quirky Edinburgh pub impressing fans with its own 'whisky ceiling' over bar

On Edinburgh's busy Rose Street, you'll find a cosy little whisky cave that has been impressing fans with its incredible array of drams.

Not only that but Dirty Dick's has packed in so many bottles it even has to store some in a gravity-defying 'whisky ceiling' above the bar.

The mind-boggling feature looks like something from the film Inception and means that guests can not only look at the gantry to see which dram they fancy but also up at the roof above them.

The cosy Victorian interior bar is home to over 250 single malts and is hugely popular with whisky fans for its incredible range.

Not only that but the pub is also home to a great beer garden – complete with outdoor furniture upcycled from whisky casks - and a menu filled with delicious pub grub.

Describing itself as a "cave of antiquaries, whiskies and beer", the bar is packed with character and serves a mixed crowd meaning there is always a buzz when you visit.

And don't just take our word for it, fans on review site TripAdvisor have described it as everything from a "Hidden Gem" to the "Perfect Pub".

One hyped reviewer wrote: "Dirty dicks... what a place. First time here and was not disappointed, the staff are really friendly, the service was second to none with a great selection of beers, the food was amazing too.

"I had the haggis, neeps and tatties and would highly recommend it, can't wait to come back again."

While another added: "Class local Scottish pub in the new town area of Edinburgh. If you’re after a traditional Scottish boozer, Head here for a cheeky beer."

Dog-friendly, the bar is also home to one of the biggest collections of Bric–a–Brac on its walls outside of the Canny Mans meaning there is always something to see.

And if you are hungry, you can grab pub classics like the Haggis Bon Bons, Mac & Cheese, Haggis, Neeps & Tatties and even their version of the deep-fried Mars Bar for dessert.
