The quirky coffee station that's been a regular sight in a Stockport park since lockdown

It has been a regular sight for people walking through a Stockport beauty spot since appearing during the Covid pandemic.

And Kafeine, a mobile coffee van which sells coffees, teas, cakes and snacks to walkers and passersby in Thornfield Park, now has a new owner.

Anthony Osborne decided to change careers and take on the new venture with the help of future mother-in-law Tracy Rodgers.

Anthony, who formerly worked in education and is from Levenshulme, said: "We bought the van from the original owners in June, and started trading right away. The footfall is huge, we’re around the corner from schools and local residents.

"It's a safe community hotspot and we like to think the van keeps people coming to the park. If we're not here we get texts asking where we are."

Anthony bought the coffee van, a 1970 Citreon HY, from previous owners Steven and Nicola Cooke who had converted it themselves. They decided to sell up after starting up their own coffee shop and deli Inner West in Salford.

Nicola said: "For us we wanted the coffee van to not be your everyday typical style, to keep it classy with quality branding, coffees, and pastries.

"We wanted the van to stay based in the park, we were supported so much by locals and the community it felt wrong to take it away."

Nicola added: "Anthony and his family are local, they've taken it over and are doing it justice for us."

Kafeine will continue to remain in Heaton Moor, but the brand is venturing around Stockport Town Hall Christmas Markets, Under Centre (Romiley) and Heaton Mersey Markets and others locally.

They also do deliveries to local businesses and work with production and weddings on film sets serving the teams.

Anthony said: "The business first started out just before Covid-19 hit, they would have 20-30 queues of customers, we are trying to keep that up really."
