Jon Bernthal is set to reprise his role as The Punisher in the upcoming MCU series Daredevil: Born Again, alongside Charlie Cox as Daredevil. New images have surfaced, showcasing Bernthal in his iconic skull-emblazoned body armor, ready to tackle crime in Hell’s Kitchen once again.
Following the confirmation that Charlie Cox's Daredevil is now part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the story of Cox's Daredevil will continue in Daredevil: Born Again. The series has undergone significant changes, with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige making the decision to revamp the show by bringing in new talent.
Despite the behind-the-scenes shake-up, the series is still expected to draw inspiration from the comic book arc Mayor Fisk. This storyline sees Wilson Fisk, also known as Kingpin, becoming the newly elected mayor of New York and waging a war against costumed vigilantes, including Daredevil and The Punisher.
In addition to the conflict with Kingpin, The Punisher will be dealing with copycats and corrupt law enforcement officers who have adopted his symbol. The series will feature a star-studded cast, including Vincent D'Onofrio as Kingpin, Sandrine Holt as Vanessa Fisk, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, and Wilson Bethel as Bullseye.
Daredevil: Born Again is slated to premiere on Disney+ in 2025 as part of Phase Five of the MCU. Fans can anticipate an action-packed series that delves into the complex dynamics between vigilantes and villains in the gritty world of Hell’s Kitchen.
