The federal government's public comment window on a proposal to shorten the path from laboratory discovery to the first human dose of a new medicine closes at 11:59 p.m. Eastern time tonight.
The Food and Drug Administration is collecting input on what it calls the Expedited Investigational New Drug pilot program, filed under a public docket on the proposal, numbered FDA-2026-N-4699. The agency opened the docket in late June and extended the deadline to today to give researchers, patient groups, hospitals, and companies more time to weigh in. The notice states that late filings will not be considered.
