The Premier League decision that will benefit Arsenal ahead of Wolverhampton Wanderers clash

Arsenal could potentially be handed a welcome boost for their upcoming clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers with Mohamed Elneny potentially set to return for the Gunners.

The Egyptian midfielder has been away from north London over the past few weeks, with him being preoccupied with international commitments during the Africa Cup of Nations.

Whilst the Gunners have already welcomed back the likes of Nicolas Pepe and Thomas Partey, Elneny remains away with his nation Egypt having reached the final following their penalty shootout victory against Cameroon on Thursday evening.

Despite that extended period away, Arsenal could be handed a boost with his return potentially set to come before the Gunners take on Wolves next week.

The final is set to take place on Sunday, February 6, with Elneny’s side set to take on Senegal at the Paul Biya Stadium in Olembe.

It of course remains to be seen when the midfielder will return to north London - and if indeed he will be fit enough to play right away.

The scheduling of the clash with Wolves certainly helps too, with the game having been rescheduled following the original postponement back in December.

Elneny will certainly hope to have a more successful return to Arsenal action than one of his teammates.

Following Ghana’s elimination from the competition, Partey returned in time to take on Liverpool in the second-leg of the Carabao Cup semi-finals. He was deemed fit enough to be named on the bench but was only on the pitch for a short period having been sent off for two bookable offences.

So far this season, Elneny has made ten appearances for the Gunners but has made just one start in the Premier League.
