If there is one thing we Scots love, it's the humble square sausage and one popular Glasgow-based café has created a way for vegans to still enjoy this ultimate breakfast treat.
Rose & Grants on the Trongate started selling the plant-based version of the geometric comfort food back in 2016 after one of their workers came up with the idea while she was travelling in Australia and it's become one of their biggest hits.
Owner Ben Rose joked that when they first launched, he'd never seen a buzz like it, selling over 200 of the vegan square sausages in five days.

Speaking about how they originally came about, Ben explained: "Caroline [Melville], who has worked with me for years, took a year out to go to Australia, she is a vegan and she just had a longing for some food from home.
"She decided to take a square sausage recipe from the internet and replace the meat with the soya protein you use for making vegan sausages. She then made it with the same spices that the butchers use traditionally."
Delighted with the results, Caroline brought it back with her before showing Ben who took it on full-time at the café.
The pair say it's as close to the real deal as you can get, with Ben shocked by how close it tasted to the original beef versions you'll find from any butcher.
Ben adds: "The thing with making vegan food is that often it doesn't translate very well but for some reason, this works really well and I think it's because it uses all of the same spices as the butchers use.
"It's got nutmeg, pepper, cumin, finely chopped onions and some bread crumbs and a bit of olive oil to hold together and it's an easy thing to make."
The tasty treat now features as part of their breakfast and brunch range, with the roll and square priced at £3, while the ultimate vegan breakfast which also features the square sausage – alongside other favourites like vegan bacon and tottie scones – comes in at £12.
Ben explained it has since become one of their best-selling products, he said: "People see the vegan square sausage on the A-board and literally walk in off the street. Glaswegian vegans seem to like their breakfast fried just as much as non-vegans! That being said I’m happy to sell it as it's much healthier and is genuinely tasty."
