Bryce Harper dominated in Game 3 against the Braves, hitting two home runs by the fifth inning as the Phillies jumped out to a big lead. Much attention was paid to his base running, as the 30-year-old slugger could be seen staring down Atlanta’s Orlando Arcia on both occasions as he rounded second base.
Following a comment reportedly made by Arcia after Atlanta’s Game 2 win, it seemed as if Harper was looking to exact revenge on the Braves, and he did just that on Wednesday.
The exchange captivated MLB fans, and the Phillies’ social media team did an excellent job of fueling the fire between the two NL East rivals. The team’s official X account posted a brilliant photo, taken by Derik Hamilton, which depicts Harper intensely staring at the shortstop, much to the enjoyment of baseball fans who had plenty to say in the aftermath.
