When one woman gave up her corporate job to slower pace of life and began to paint six years ago as a hobby, she never imagined painting would later become her full-time career. Claire Timbrell, 36, had failed her Art A-Level at school and lost her love of painting. But after re-discovering the therapeutic benefits of painting, she has now helped more than a million people pick up a paintbrush.
"I've been doing paint along events for about four years and I started in schools, restaurants and corporate offices and events," said Claire who is also known as The Paint Along Lady. "But then during lockdown, those were the three areas that just shut overnight. So, I decided to do everything online and do it for free."
Claire started hosting live paint along sessions on Facebook and her videos reached a whopping 1.7 million people, she said. "It all went a bit crazy with people painting all over the world, which was amazing. It gave me a new passion to get as many people painting as possible. The whole idea is that it's fun-art not fine-art," said Claire.
