Avengers assemble… at the Dolby Theater? We can expect a "Marvel reunion" at the Oscars 2026, but just what that will look like remains to be seen.
"There’s also going to be a Marvel reunion for the superhero fans," the award show's executive producer Katy Mullan said at a press conference (via The Hollywood Reporter). So we’re gonna have superstar superheroes, and there is also going to be an extraterrestrial on the stage. So you can figure that one out."
Hmmm. Extraterrestrial aside, some fans think this could signal a new tease for Avengers: Doomsday. "What if they introduce the Doomsday trailer?" one person wrote in response.
"Hope this means an incoming trailer soon. We need a trailer," said another.
So far, there have been four short teasers for the movie, with each one centering on a different character or group: there's one showing the return of Steve Rogers, Thor and his adopted daughter, the X-Men showing off their powers, and the Wakandans coming face to face with the Fantastic Four.
While these clips have given us a vague idea of what's been going on with each of these heroes since we last saw them, they don't give us much to go on in terms of what to expect from Doomsday itself. A full-length trailer feels long overdue, then.
The first Avengers movie since 2019's Endgame will feature a mammoth ensemble cast, including Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr., Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Florence Pugh, and many, many more.
The Oscars 2026 will take place on March 15. Avengers: Doomsday, meanwhile, hits theaters on December 18. For more on Marvel Phase 6, check out our guide to all the other upcoming Marvel movies and shows.
